We had our first projects presentations of the year this past Thursday, thank all of you who came to support your student! We have some room to grow and goals to set for our next project. The next project will be rolling out soon and will focus on landforms over time.
This week in 5th Grade Math: We will start the week off with the distributive property of multiplication. We will practice word problems using modeling, and we will finish off the week transitioning from the area model for multiplication to the standard algorithm.
This week in 6th Grade Math: We will start the week off by reviewing concepts learned in Chapter 1. The students will take home a study guide Monday, to help prepare for their Chapter 1 test on Tuesday. We will begin Chapter 2 later this week, multiplying fractions by whole numbers and multiplying fractions by fractions.
This week in 6th Grade Projects: We will begin to shift from our solar system to systems here on Earth. We will be looking at fossilization and how to understand the age of rocks and how rocks form.
Looking forward to the great week ahead!
