September 29, 2019 by Victoria Ponessa

Hello 5th/6th Families!

The week ahead…

5th Grade Math: This week in math we will continue to review and practice multiplying using the standard algorithm and dividing using long division. We will have our Unit 2 Test this Thursday, Oct. 3rd. We are continually working on our written mathematical explainations through our daily practice of problem solving.

6th Grade Math: This week in math we will finish up lessons on multiplying and dividing fractions. We will have our Chapter 2 Test this Thursday, Oct. 3rd. We are continually working on our written mathematical explainations through our daily practice of problem solving.

6th Grade Projects: This week in projects, we will continue to build background knowledge on erosion and the different agents of erosion. This understanding will help influence students’ understanding of the landforms they will be writing about and building models of. Students have recieved their famous landform and will begin to research their landform and participate in guided writing lessons as they draft their essays. We have paint, clay, cardboard, and cookie sheets to help plan their physical models of their landforms. We are hoping to work on time management skills and delegating responsibilities within our partnerships.

The rubric with examples can be found here:
