Hello Families,

The week ahead in 5th grade math: Last week we began investigating decimals. This week we will move forward onto adding, subtracting and multiplying decimals. Students can apply their understanding of these concepts from previous learning to decimals.

The week ahead in 6th grade math: We are coming to the end of Chapter 9. Monday and Tuesday we will review utilizing a practice test. Our Chapter 8 & 9 Test will be this Wednesday, February 12th. On Thursday, we will begin Chapter 10 on coordinate planes.

The week ahead in 6th grade projects: Students recieved their topics and group members and will begin digging into their ancient civilization. We start the week off with a walking field trip to the Churchill County Museum this Monday, Feb. 10th, from 10:40 to approximately 12:30. Students must have a signed permission slip to attend. Students will take notice of what is included in museum exhibits and the decisions that museum curators make. The remainder of the week we will continue investigating Ancient Egypt and Ancient Israel. The students will be given time to futher their research and begin to develop their museum exhibit. The final project due date is Thursday, March 5th.

Upcoming Events/Important Dates:

Monday 2/10: Walking Field trip to Churchill County Museum. 10:40am-12:30pm Permission slip required.

Wednesday 2/12: 6th grade Chapter 8 & 9 Math Test

Wednesday 2/12: 1st Semester Award Ceremony 5th-8th grade 2:30pm in the cafeteria.
