This is our last week of school for November, just a friendly reminder, there will be no school next week 11/25-11/28. We will return from break on 12/2. Wishing everyone a restful Thanksgiving!
This week in 5th grade math: We will start the week solving word problems involving fraction operations and then jump into division of fractions. Students are doing well keeping track of our strategies and are able to continue to build upon the properties of fractions. We will only have one homework page this week.
This week in 6th grade math: We will be relating ratios to fractions in the beginning of the week and will spend the remainder of the week reviewing what we know about ratios. The students will have their Chapter 5 test this Thursday, November 21st. We will only have one homework page this week.
This week in 6th grade projects: We will continue to explore our Unit 3 concepts, as we move to the end of this unit. We will investigate the effects of continental position and latitude on climate, as well as identify climate zones and biomes. Upon monitoring our students progress, the 6th grade team has decided to adjust the Unit 3 project. The original due date for the project was Thursday, 11/21, it will now be due Wednesday 12/4. The students will be assessed on Unit 3 concepts on Tuesday, 12/3. It is highly encouraged that students continue to study their vocabulary words on Quizlet. Project presentations will take place on Wednesday, 12/4, beginning at 2:50pm.

Our goal for this year is 150 sets of pajamas! Let’s do it! If you have any questions please email Mrs. O’Flaherty. Thank you so much for all of your support!
