Week of 11/11-11/14

November 10, 2019 by Victoria Ponessa

Hello Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend and we thank all our veterans who have served and are serving our great country!

The week ahead in 5th grade math: We began our Unit 3 test on Thursday and due to some changes in the schedule for their projects lessons, those who need it will have an opportunity to finish their tests on Tuesday. This week we will be moving into Unit 4. We will be multiplying fractions by fractions, and fractions by mixed numbers. The students are showing great success with understanding fractions and building upon patterns and properties of fractions. Students will only recieve one homework page this week, it will be due Thursday.

The week ahead in 6th grade math: We concluded Chapter 4 on Wednesday and had the opportunity to explore 7th grade skills with integers for fun on Thursday. We are moving into Chapter 5 on Tuesday. We will be investigating ratios, equivalent ratios, and how to find missing terms within ratios. Students will only recieve one homework page this week, it will be due Thursday.

The week ahead in 6th grade projects: Students worked collaboratively with their table partners to complete research on the climate of their designated region. This week they will begin to write a script and design their accompanying google slides for their weather forecasts.

Our goal for this year is 150 sets of pajamas! Let’s do it!  If you have any questions please email Mrs. O’Flaherty. Thank you so much for all of your support!

Looking forward to the week ahead. As always please email with any questions or concerns!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Ponessa
