I hope y’all had a great Easter weekend!
Last week in projects, we began studying erosion and weathering. We watched several videos that showed the different types of erosion. We also discussed one of the greatest examples of erosion, the Grand Canyon. The class spent several days completing an erosion/weathering note taker using an online research source, and created a flip book to display examples of weathering.
This next week we will work on our erosion group project–constructing land forms (both with and without vegetation) to test the rate of erosion by water. Students should have brought home a list of items that each group needs for this project. Please send the item your child is responsible for by Monday at 1:00 p.m. If you are unable to send in the materials, please let me know and I will take care of it. We will spend 2 days constructing and 2 days testing our erosion projects.
Our Quizlet vocab quiz will be this Tuesday. Please remind your child to spend a few minutes each night practicing these words.
In writing, students continued their research on a specific volcano in the world and completed an organizer for this informative writing piece. Students will work on their rough draft, revise, and edit this week.
Many of our students are participating in the Churchill County Jr. Livestock Show & Sale, April 25-27, 2019 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. Sale is on Saturday, April 27th beginning at 1:00 p.m. Check it out!
