We are officially in the second semester! These kids are working really hard this year, and I am really proud of them! We are excited to move onto Social Studies this week! Report cards are being finished up this week, and will be sent home on Thursday!
6th Grade Math – We held off on taking the Percent test last week, and spent Thursday as another review day. The class is feeling much more confident after one more day of practice. We will do another review tomorrow morning, and then take the test. After that, we will begin our Algebra unit!
The class did not reach the MAPs goal of each student growing by at least 4 points. We were super close, and are working towards making growth for Spring!
5th Grade Math – This week, we will be reviewing our Area unit, and taking the test on Wednesday. The test involves finding area of rectangles, triangles, parallelograms, and composite figures. These are the important formulas that the students need to know: Area of rectangle = lenth x width, Area of triangle = 1/2 x base x height, Area of parallelogram = base x height. After that, we will be moving on to our Ratio unit.

6th Grade Projects – We are officially finished with our Science units! We took our last vocab quiz, and finished up the last Science project on Thursday! This week, we begin Social Studies. We start off with our study of Early Man which will be a quick 3-week unit with a fun cave art project!
