December 16, 2019 by Mandy Helwig

This Thursday, we will be walking to the Fallon Theater to watch Home Alone. Please sign your child’s permission slip and send them to school with $5. We are also participating in Secret Santa. Each student has chosen a name and should be purchasing a small gift to give them at the party.

Students can also wear ugly sweaters or Christmas shirts or red, white, or green on Thursday!

5th Grade Math – This week we are beginning a new unit on Perimeter and Area. This year, students will calculate area and perimeter with fractions. On Tuesday and Wednesday we will be working on a fun Elf House project based on these skills. https://www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic-home/arith-review-fractions/multiply-fractions/v/example-finding-area-with-fractional-sides

6th Grade Projects – We are studying ways that humans impact the Earth. We will be working on a new project this week, which is to come up with an idea for a new conservation law for our area, that would help reduce negative impacts on Earth.
