This week we will continue our work with adverbs. This part of speech can be a little tricky. Adverbs describe verbs. They tell how, when, or where an action happens.

The young boy skipped downstairs. (where)
The second graders wrote narratives on various Halloween prompts last week. This week the students will complete a ‘Would you rather’ writing, focusing on stating their opinion and supporting their opinion with reasons why.
Students will continue working on the matter project. We will work on identifying the substances within a mixture based on testing. Students will then explore the properties of crayons and explore how they can be changed by breaking, melting, and cooling. Student scientists will also begin working on a their matter slideshow with a partner.
It’s going to be a great week!!
