Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Veteran’s Day weekend! It was a lovely weekend to remember the brave men and women who have served our country!!

Students worked on their final strategy for adding–partial sum. The work on this strategy has included adding two, 2-digit numbers without renaming. This week students will continue work on adding with the partial difference strategy with 3-digit numbers. They will also work on subtracting using the partial difference strategy.

Our work with adjectives finished up last week. Students completed a “mini” project on their Chrome Books. Each student selected a picture and created an “Adjective Pyramid” describing their picture.
With our work with adjectives completed, we will be moving on to adverbs. Adverbs describe verbs. They tell how, when, or where action (verbs) happen.

The writers in 2nd grade are completing their final drafts on their holiday opinion piece. In addition to finishing up our opinions, students will be writing a Thanksgiving piece on thankfulness.

We are coming to an end of our work on matter. This week students will be looking at changing matter through heating and cooling. Students will also take a test on matter.

As we finish this week, we head into our “Fall Break” and the official start of the holiday season. During our “Fall Break”, we will not be sending homework. Miss Garcia and myself wish everyone a restful, fun-filled, safe break and a lovely Thanksgiving. See you all after break on Monday, November 26th!
