We are so excited to get this year up and running! We can’t wait to see our students, build relationships with them (and you) and start learning so many new things!
Much of this week will be spent reconnecting with each other and learning and practicing new procedures. We will both be in the classroom on Monday, then begin our split schedule (Mrs. Sorensen mornings/Mrs. Farley afternoons) on Tuesday. On Monday, we will spend much of the day sorting school supplies, forms, and reviewing our routines. The rest of the week will be spent reinforcing expectations, rules, and procedures. This is accomplished through role play and many games, so it will be FUN! As a class, we will review our TRIBES agreements and have team building exercises. Students will also receive the SAFE VOICE presentation, where they will be reminded of the anonymous reporting system used to report threats to the safety or well-being of students (or themselves). On Thursday, 3rd and 4th graders will take the math MAPS test so we can see where each student is at on their math learning journey.
We are looking forward to an amazing year with our new students.
