Math Update for Feb. 4-7

February 3, 2019 by Kim Sorensen & Rebecca Farley

Math facts seem to be going well. I am seeing progress in just one week of sending home math fact practice sheets. Keep up the great work! If your child forgets to bring home a worksheet, you can print from the following links, they need to complete 2 pages for a total of 200 problems.

4th Grade:

This week we are continuing our study of angle measurement. This is a tough one, as it requires precise measurement. We will be practicing this skill for the next three days and then testing on Thursday. Any chance they can practice measuring angles at home would be very beneficial!

  • Monday: Math Facts
  • Tuesday: Math Facts
  • Wednesday: Finish Practice Test
  • Thursday: Math Facts

IXL’s that work with this week’s instruction:

3rd Grade:

This week we will finish up our study with bar and pictographs. We have made several graphs and used those graphs to answer both one and two step questions. We will review for our test on Monday and then test on Tuesday. On Wednesday we will start learning all about area. This week you could talk to your 3rd grader about the different things in your home that you would need to find the area of. For example, the windows, carpet, tile, paint for a wall, or anything that you would need to find how much flat space something takes up. The more they can talk about it, the clearer this concept will be to them.
