Math Update: April 15-18

April 14, 2019 by Kim Sorensen & Rebecca Farley

This week in both 3rd and 4th grade we will be classifying polygons. We will be exploring and discussing the different attributes that make each polygon unique. I have added videos to the geometry section of my video website that show polygons and quadrilaterals:

4th Grade Math: Our main focus with polygons will be with triangles and quadrilaterals. We will classify triangles according to side lengths: scalene, isosceles and equilateral triangles. We will also classify triangles according to angles: right, acute and obtuse triangles. We will classify quadrilaterals based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines.

Homework:

  • Monday: Math Facts
  • Tuesday: Math Facts
  • Wednesday: Practice Test
  • Thursday: Math Facts

IXLs that match this weeks instruction: X.1 – X.9
