This week in class:
7th Grade ELA: Continue reading The Outsiders and using text evidence to support analysis. Students will fill out chapter organizers in preparation of our final exam–a Paideia Seminar! In writing, students will begin working on a narrative called “A Day in the Life”. They will choose an object they are familiar with and write a narrative from the point of view of it. This is a really fun writing assignment, and I’m excited to see the students’ creativity!
8th Grade ELA–We will continue reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Students are making wonderful connections and asking important questions as we read this. In writing, students will practice writing short narratives by rewriting scenes from Mockingbird from the point of view of another character.
Projeccts–This week we will begin our study of World War I. By the end of the week, students should be able to tell you the main causes of the Great War, along with which countries made up the Allied Powers and which made up the Central Powers.
Homework: fill out reading log (20 minutes each night); We the People students can be working on testimonials.
