We are starting the third week of the quarter with all students deep in reading projects. Ninth graders have researched a 1920s topic to help strengthen their understanding of The Great Gatsby. Tenth graders have learned about the Russian Revolution to help them understand the allegorical references when they read Animal Farm. Tenth graders are also writing restaurant reviews. They will present these on May 6. Ninth graders are taking part of their final exam, the Nevada State End of Course writing exam on Tuesday April 23. This is administered online and graded by the state. This will count as 10% of their semester grade as mandated by the state. It’s a busy time of year, but all students should be reading and completing their reading logs each night.
