February 3, 2019 by Natalie Lane

Greetings Bighorns! We’re off to a great start in projects! The students and I have had a great time learning about colonization! Our focus last week was on the Southern Colonies. This week we will cover the New England Colonies. The Mayflower Compact, Salem Witch Trials, Puritans and Plymouth will be just a few of the topics we will be diving into. Be sure to ask your students about all the fun, new things they are learning this week.

  • No school Monday, Feb. 18th.
  • The Middle School Student Council will be selling Valentine candy grams February 4th-13th for grades 3-8. The candy grams are $.50 a piece.
  • Middle School Dance Thursday, Feb. 14th 7-10 pm. Students will need a permission slip to attend.
  • Family Movie Night is on Thursday, February 28th. Check out the poster on the school website for more information.

As I mentioned on my blog last week, we have implemented a new classroom policy that the students and I customized and agreed upon. If you are looking at your student’s engagement grade for last week and noticing a deduction on it, please take a look at the updated policy to see why this grade has been inputted. All students that received a loss of points on their engagement grade were made aware of the total amount taken off prior to leaving class each day. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me!

Our class Catch Me Jar winner from last week is displayed below. Well done!

Have a wonderful week!
