4th Grade with Mrs. Antoniono & Mrs. Feest

Week 5 – OnoFeest

Bighorns, This week in 4th Grade Math we finished up our unit on finding multiples, factors and prime and composite numbers. It’s been fun watching the children find patterns in numbers and apply their findings to challenging questions. We took a test on Thursday and the tests will be coming home next week. Remember, if your student does not do well on an assessment, they will be pulled by me in the afternoon to work on those math concepts. We will continue to strengthen their knowledge...

Week 4 – OnoFeest

Bighorns! This week in math we completed our first test on the Number Sense concepts we’ve covered so far this year.  Mrs. Sorensen and I are still analyzing the results, and the tests will be handed back this week. We want to remind everyone that we made a huge shift in teaching the Singapore curriculum to a “T”- which is far more challenging than just the Common Core standards.   Other graded classwork and home enjoyment will be coming home this week...

Week 3 – OnoFeest

Bighorns! This past week in 4th grade math we mostly focused on rounding to the nearest tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands and hundred thousands place.  For the most part the kids were able to take what they learned about rounding last year, and apply it to the further places.  You can help at home by asking your kiddo “about how much” something costs that you see at a store or on a TV commercial.  Asking what 2 multiples (of ten, or hundred, etc) any number sits between...

Week 1

Bighorns, This week in 4th grade math I have really enjoyed getting to spend time with this group of kiddos again.  After being out of the classroom so much last year, it’s great to connect with all of them.  This week we learned a couple new math games, talked through some of our fears or concerns regarding math, and created “Figure Me Out” posters- which mixed math with getting to know each other a little better.  We also took our Fall MAPS test on Thursday so we can...
