Week 11 with Mrs. Feest

Greetings Bighorns! I hope you are enjoying your Veteran’s Day weekend! I know I have had a wonderful few days with my family. In projects, we have been working on our Nevada maps and this past week groups focused on identifying and placing counties and county seats on their maps. This week they will get to the really fun stuff! Groups will design the symbols on their maps and create their map key with those items represented. We hope to finish those up this week and practice...

FOURTH GRADE Hello 4th Grade Families: I’m thrilled with the progress we are making in math.  We are currently working on a unit about multiples, factors, prime and composite numbers.  Studying these concepts is strengthening math fact skills and giving the children tools to see how numbers fit and work together.  Keep an out in the hallway outside our room for our Factor Project posters.  We have a unit assessment on this concept this Wednesday, and then we will be moving on to...

Week 8 with Mrs. Feest

Hello Bighorns! We just wrapped up a VERY busy week! I am so proud of my students! They worked incredibly hard on their Nevada settler project models so they would be able to present them on Thursday. I was amazed at how calm they were when their parents and Mrs. Farley’s class walked through the door for their presentations. Just seconds before that door opened, they were nervous and worried. I think they did an amazing job at presenting all they learned about the early Nevada...

4th GRADE Hello 4th Grade Families, I hope many of you are out enjoying this amazing weather during this amazing time of year!  Just wanted to give you an update of how things are going in math.  We have spent this past week adding and subtracting.  The children even learned the traditional way of adding and subtracting. It was interesting to see that some kids who are usually quite proficient with math, struggled with the traditional algorithms….because they just don’t make that...
