Week 25

Welcome to trimester 3! Hard to believe we’re in that final stretch. We will continue to work hard and finish the year off strong. This past week, we began making our suitcases for our immigration simulation. We had lots of thoughtful discussions and researched some of the most common items immigrant brought with them to America. When helping your child select the items for their suitcase, please remind them that each item should have sentimental value to them and/or serve a...

Week 24

Last week, our class enjoyed going on a Google expedition to the American west as we continue to learn about immigration to America and how that affected westward expansion. We also attended the first semester awards assembly to celebrate all the hard work these students are putting in! Week 23

A big shout out to all parents who helped their students research their family history to begin our immigration unit! I know this required quite a bit of time and effort, but all the kiddos really enjoyed learning about and sharing their ancestry. We noticed a lot of commonalities and we were even able to practice some geography skills by locating some of the different countries our relatives came from. Thank you to those of you who have also sent in some cereal boxes for our project at...

Week 19

*IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT MATH MAPS TESTING FROM MRS. ONO AT THE END OF THIS POST! We’re fully back into the swing of things and I have to say how impressed I am with both classes’ ability to come back from a long break ready to learn and be present! I expected to spend some time reviewing expectations and procedures the first week back. They proved what great scholars they are by not needing to review ANY of those things! I hope this positive behavior continues throughout...
