All 9th and 10th grade English students started reading new books this week. Ninth graders are reading The Great Gatsby and tenth graders are reading Animal Farm. We are starting the third week of the quarter with all students deep in reading projects. Ninth graders have researched a 1920s topic to help strengthen their understanding of The Great Gatsby. The fourth quarter is well underway in high school English. Ninth graders are turning in their first final draft of the quarter, writing about the best advice they have ever received. This week the high school is on a different schedule. Many students are gone M-W for the Go Campusing trip and many are gone T-Th for FFA State competition. Today is the start of the second semester. Students in 10th grade will start reading Hamlet in groups and will work to appreciate the themes and plot of this very popular play.
