I can’t believe how fast time is passing! We had another busy and fun week in class! 4th grade reached their class goal and was able to enjoy a field trip to Safeway! In third grade we finished our class novel (Pie). We will be celebrating the completion of our book with an afternoon of pie! What an exciting week! We are so thankful for all the volunteers who helped make our Ellis Island simulation authentic and fun for our students. I can’t believe we are already moving into trimester 3! Time is zooming fast in 3rd grade! Last week students completed their I AM poems. They chose a picture of an immigrant and wrote a poem based off of how the person in the photo felt. I was so impressed with the empathy, understanding and maturity that all of the students displayed during this activity. I hope everyone has enjoyed their long weekend! Last week, our class enjoyed going on a Google expedition to the American west as we continue to learn about immigration to America and how that affected westward expansion. We started our first week back from break with a bang! Students jumped right back into routine and did great. We will continue to reinforce expectations and skills as we move forward.
