Happy March!! We had a great time in projects last week. Students participated in daily simulations and experienced first hand how the various acts that were implemented by Great Britain had on the colonies. Students received a daily payment allowance based on their “job”. However, they lost a lot of it each day due to taxes and penalties! Greetings 8th grade families! We transitioned into the American Revolution last week by studying the French and Indian War and its impacts on the Revolution. This week our focus is on the acts and events that took place (Stamp Act, Sugar Act, Boston Tea Party, etc.). Hello! The last few weeks we have been having some issues in class with being respectful to our peers and adults. The chatting and visiting with friends during class has also been increasing. Time is flying in projects! Last week student’s constructed telephones using a variety of materials. They then had to test how effective their phone was. The class then worked on creating a light wave using sticks, tape and candy dots. They enjoyed sampling the candy during this activity!
