Last Week

9th and 10th graders this week are engaged in their cross-curricular projects. Ninth graders are working in teams to create travel brochures and tenth graders are creating budgets with a random job in a US city. They are making a blog of their life focusing on expenses, budgeting, and personal finance. Carson River Day

Biology students get to have their Carson River Work Day on Thursday!  This is something I look forward to every year! It is a great day of learning and teaching for both the 9th and 5th grade students.  We will be leaving the school at 8:20 am and will not return until after 1:00 pm.  Please remind your students to dress for the weather.   They should wear closed toed shoes (tennis shoes or boots) and clothes that are okay to get dirty.  A hot dog lunch will be provided so unless your...

Week 13

This week Biology students will be starting their final unit on Ecology. We have lots of fun with this unit. We will also be taking a field trip to the river on May 23rd. We will be teaching the 5th graders about river ecology. It is a great time to get out of the class room and do some hands learning. Physics classes are in the middle of their bonding unit. Week 11

Biology this week is all about evolution pasterns and evidence of evolution. We will end this week with a web quest lab station activity. Back from spring break!

Welcome back from break. We will hit the ground running this week in both Biology and physics. Bio students will start this quarter learning about evolution, we will do a fun lab about natural selection and start learning about the Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium. Students will begin doing equations with HWE. Physics students will start learning about atomic theory and the Periodic table in preparation to go over bonding and reactions in the future....

Presentations

This week Both Physics and Biology will be presenting in class. Physics are researching electromagnetic waves and digital transmission. Biology has been researching genetic disorders. Week 3 & 4 of Semester 2

New Semester!

As we enter a new semester Biology Students will be learning about Genetics and Heredity. Your child is currently learning about DNA and RNA and Meiosis.
