  • Mrs. Windriver

    • 3rd grade

This is my 9th year of teaching. I've taught 2nd, 3rd, 6th and held a reading specialist position at Schurz Elementary where I worked with K-8 students. I have my BA in Elementary Education and my MS in Reading and Literacy.

My family and I enjoy reading, museums, and family game night. I love everything Harry Potter! I've been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, FL and plan on visiting California's in the near future. Reading is my passion and I love when students finally find the book that excites them. Unfortunately, my love of reading came later in life. My hope is to instill that love a little earlier in my children and my students.

    • 4th grade

I taught a 3rd/4th grade accelerated program back in Chicago for 6 years, and then taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade math here at Oasis when we opened in 2011. I love working with this age of children!

  • Ms. Williams

    • 4th grade

I have taught students in grades 1 through 12 and also worked for the University of Michigan for two years as a teacher trainer, facilitating science outreach throughout the state. In addition, I taught high school science while serving in the Peace Corps in the Fiji Islands.

  • Mrs. Neal

    • 4th grade

This is my 5th year teaching here at Oasis Academy. I started out teaching 2nd grade and last year I switched to 4th grade, which means I have taught 1st-5th grade math (good thing I love math!). I have my dual BA in elementary and special education and my MS in teaching mathematics. While I absolutely love reading and writing, I have a passion for teaching math. Being able to help students understand, really UNDERSTAND math is one of my favorite things.

  • Mrs. Mori

    • 5th grade

I started here at Oasis Academy the year it opened because I wanted to be part of something that I thought would be exciting, successful and put students first. This is my 18th year of teaching, I have taught 1st grade, Special Education inclusion in K-6th grades, 3rd grade, 6th & 8th grades and now 5th & 4th grades. My first year at Oasis I began teaching 6th grade and 8th grade writing and recently moved down to 5th grade and 4th grade writing. I LOVED 6th grade and writing is my favorite subject to teach even though it is most likely NOT the students favorite subject! My husband Louie, retired from 30 years of teaching, and he was my best role model in regards to putting my students first.

I was born in New York, moved to Colorado when I was nine and moved to Nevada in 1989. I graduated from UNR and love my career choice. My husband and I have three children of our own, who keep us on our toes at all times!

  • Mrs. McElhannon

    • 5th grade

This is my third year teaching here at Oasis. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education, and I love working with 4th and 5th graders:)

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.
